Daria and Jane Lane [Poem]

Daria and Jane Lane
August 21, 2016

I’m sitting in front of my cheap colors,
Reading the worst poems I’ve ever read
By Charles Bukowski.

I think about last night,
Spent talking to someone
Who has friend-zoned me,
And my poor choices
Of how to spend time.

I worry about
All the art
That has to escape from my brain,
All the people
I have to please,
All the books
I have to read,
All the money
That has to be made.

And instead of doing something
About all these things,
I take a sip of coffee
And decide it’s time
To binge-watch
Daria and Jane Lane,
My two favorites:
The sarcastic nihilist
And her artist friend.
